Wolverhampton & South Staffordshire Car Club [WSSCC] respects your privacy and we will only use your personal data in the way we describe in this notice. When using your personal data we aim to be fair and transparent, and to follow our obligations under UK data protection laws. Your personal data is used for administering our competitions and events.
Wolverhampton & South Staffordshire Car Club, a company registered in England and Wales, is the data controller for the purpose of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Collecting your Personal Data
We collect your personal data when you fill in competition event entry forms, contact us, visit our site or send us a message. The personal data you provide is necessary to enable us to fulfil our contract with you. The information you give us could include:
- Identity Data, such as your name and date of birth
- Contact Data, such as your address, telephone number, email address
- Financial Data, such as payment information
and other information (membership number, competition licence number, vehicle details). When you give us personal data about another person, such as a child, parent, guardian, or emergency contact you should let that person know that you have given us the information.

For competitors, we use your personal data when you enter our events. We will publish some of your information in the programme and the results, which will be in the public domain. We may ask you for emergency contact and next of kin details which we will only use in an emergency, and which is use for a legitimate interest. You should let the contact and next of kin know that you have given this information to us.
For ticket purchases, we use your personal data to supply to you the tickets that you have booked, including to contact you with any information relating to the event and to deal with any questions, comments or complaints you have in relation to the event.
We may also use your personal data for our legitimate interests, including enforcing the terms of any other agreement between us, for regulatory and legal purposes (for example anti-money laundering), for audit purposes and to contact you about changes to this policy.
We might use your information to send you marketing messages by email, but only if you have agreed that we can do this by giving us your clear consent – and you can change your mind at any time just by letting us know by contacting us. We will not sell your information to another organisation.
To support your lifetime relationship with motor sport and WSSCC, we may keep your information indefinitely. Unless we are required to retain information by relevant legislation, we will, at your request, delete your personal data from our system.
Sharing your Personal Data
We may share competitor personal data with Motorsport UK as required by its General Regulations for governing motor sport, with medical personnel, or any other person if we have to comply with a legal obligation. We may also share personal data with service providers, suppliers and sub-contractors we appoint to perform functions on our behalf in accordance with our instructions. We do not allow third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes.
